The Local Area

Wembury is situated in the South Hams district of South Devon. On the doorstep of Dartmoor National Park, there is much to explore. The neighbouring county of Cornwall is also around 30 minutes away by car.

Plymouth, dubbed Britain’s Ocean City, boasts a broad range of activities and attractions. The city is steeped in extensive naval history, but also offers a large shopping complex at Drake Circus, multiple cinemas and a theatre for those looking to enjoy a spot of culture.

 

Wembury Beach is picturesque, and is just a few minutes away by car. Alternatively, it can be accessed via the coast path. Enjoy rock-pooling or even a dip in the sea during the summer months. There is also a seasonal beach café available.

 

Wembury Church offers spectacular views over the Yealm Estuary and Mewstone. There is a little village shop and the quaint Muscle Inn in neighbouring Down Thomas for good food.
